When you log into your profile on Planning Center’s website or open up the Planning Center Services app, you’ll see that there are a TON of options to customize when you are scheduled to serve at GENESIS (setting which service you serve, how often you want to serve, text notifications, scheduling in coordination with other members of your family who also serve at GENESIS) but please make sure as a volunteer to at least always do these two things through Planning Center:
When your TEAM Leader schedules you to serve on a Sunday, you’ll receive an email like this which lists the position and service time, along with buttons to Accept or Decline.
Please make sure to respond to all scheduling requests by Thursday the latest. (This really helps your TEAM Leader know that we have enough volunteers to serve on Sunday.)
When you know that you will be away or are unavailable to serve, please set a blockout date in Planning Center for that Sunday. This helps your TEAM Leader know not to schedule you on that specific Sunday.
(If you have family members who also serve at GENESIS, you can set blockout dates for your whole family.)
This is really important for communication if you are on a TEAM.
This is helpful for TEAM Leaders so they know when you are available to serve and what your preferences are.
Email, App Push Notifications and Texts are all options. Configure your profile to let us know which one is best for you and to ensure that you get service requests.
You don’t need the app to use Planning Center, but if you have a smartphone, the app is very useful to have!
