GENESIS Unlimited Team Expectations
- We will do everything possible on a Sunday morning to help all kids walk with God.
- Our assessment team will meet to discuss the best way forward after meeting and observing with a family.
- We will work towards finding just the right sidekick for each child and adjust as needed.
- We recognize that there can be more kids with needs than we have sidekicks for. We will do our best to be flexible and creative at making sure each child can attend on a Sunday, but we recognize it won’t always be possible due to scheduling conflicts, the child’s needs and space concerns.
- We place a high value on our team members and take their needs, concerns and ideas into consideration when making decisions about our Unlimited Ministry. Nothing is done without the team having the opportunity to give input on decisions.
- We are a ministry that exists to share the Gospel with ALL children and remember that we are not an educational/school setting. We take into consideration the needs of the entire ministry when making decisions about how best to serve all families.
- We hold information confidential and only share that information with leaders in GENESIS Kids.
GENESIS Parent Commitment
- Parents entrusting their children to our care is a great gift and a great responsibility. Your transparency and authenticity with us will help us to support their child as they attend GENESIS Kids. We are grateful for your input and support. If you know your child is struggling with something, we may be able to help if you share it with us.
- There could be a Sunday where we ask you to stay to assist us with your child. If the child is attending for the first time or if there is a new development that we need a parent's support for, we will ask you to stay to help us get a sense of how to navigate a new situation.
- All our team members are dedicated and have been called by the Lord to serve with Unlimited Kids. They may or may not have professional training in working with children with Special Needs. We thank you in advance for recognizing that they are giving their time and talent to serve with GENESIS Kids and are learning (through Unlimited Leadership) to support your child.
- If your child is unable to attend on a Sunday, we ask you to let us know as soon as possible. 24-hour advance notice is preferred, although we realize you may not know until Sunday morning whether you can attend. Texting Jennabeth or Jane is the best way to let us know. Texting earlier is best as we may have several people to communicate with.
- We may ask you to attend a different service time. This may be due to the fact that there are less children at another service, or the sidekick for your child is not available at the time you prefer.
- We may not be able to support your child in GENESIS Kids based on their needs and the safety concerns for all the children in the program. We also may not have a volunteer with the skill set necessary to care for your child.
- If someone from GENESIS Leadership needs to speak to you, your child may not be able to attend GENESIS Kids until that conversation takes place. Please be sure to respond to requests from Jennabeth Jackson, the GENESIS Kids Assistant Director.
- There are headphones available and activity bags if your child needs to sit in service with you. We have a Family Viewing Room on our first floor where you can watch the service with your child.
