1) Why GROUPs are central to our mission

At GENESIS, we believe that discipleship happens in circles, not just rows. While Sunday mornings are vital for worship and teaching, GROUPs are where the “one anothers” of Scripture come to life.

Our mission is to help ALL people walk with God, and nobody should walk alone. GROUPs provide the community, accountability, and care necessary for long-term spiritual growth.

When you facilitate a GROUP, you aren’t just leading a meeting—you’re creating space for gospel transformation and life change.

2) Why facilitate a GROUP

Facilitating a GROUP is deeply rewarding. While it does take time and energy, it’s also about how God grows you in the process.

Facilitators often find that:

• Your own faith deepens: there’s no better way to learn than to lead.
• You see God move: When we step out in faith, we get a front row seat to see God move
• You build deep community: you’ll develop some of your closest friendships, and you’ll help others connect too.
• You play a part in someone’s story: there is real joy in seeing a GROUP member take a next step in their faith journey.

3) Roles: GROUP Facilitator vs. Host

GROUP Facilitator

• Organize the GROUP and facilitate discussion around the Bible study (Sunday Scripture/sermon series guide or other approved content).
• Create great conversations (facilitate, not teach).
• Handle logistics (attendance, communication, coordination).
